Sir Robert McAlpine  – 135 Bishopsgate

(WC Fit-Out 2018/2019 )

This is one of a trio of buildings that forms a 900 ft continuous frontage along Bishopsgate. Originally designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), 135 Bishopsgate was granted planning permission (in August 2017) for a refurbishment. The plans involve refurbishing the interior of the building, improving the connectivity with the street, and installing terraces and green spaces on the upper levels. The refurbishment of 135 Bishopsgate will create a welcoming eastern entrance to Broadgate while enhancing the estate’s retail and commercial offer.

This project significantly expands the current retail provision and provides over 18,000 sqft of new workspace, and to significantly expand the current retail provision, both supported by the creation of new public realm to improve pedestrian and user experience. International Italian food hall brand Eataly has confirmed their presence in the expansive retail space.

The scheme features a revised reception, split over the ground and first floors, providing access from both Bishopsgate and the Great Eastern Walkway.
